Balancing Act: Gravity-Defying Ball of Floating Furniture
Karen Ryan takes her inspiration for excess
and waste – her barely-balanced chairs look ever more precarious with each
addition, making the point all the more clearly.
What
if we were unable to discard our old furniture and,
instead, were responsible for finding a place for it in our current living
space?
If
each tossed chair had to use the same footprint as your current seat, well,
the end is obvious: eventually it will topple over on its side, be crushed
under its own weight, and who knows what would happen to the furniture
sitting below.
